DevDocs.io MCP — keyless metadata + search of the docs index that powers devdocs.io (Angular, MDN, Node, Python, Rust stdlib, etc.).

Tools

  • docs() — full docs index (each entry has slug, type, release, attribution, db_size)
  • search_docs(query) — filter the docs index by name/slug substring
  • index(slug) — index of all entries inside a single doc (e.g. slug="javascript")
  • search_index(slug, query, limit?) — substring-search entries inside a doc; returns name + path + type
  • db(slug) — content database for a doc (HTML snippets keyed by path; may be large)
  • entry(slug, path) — single entry’s content (HTML) from a doc
  • types(slug) — list categories (“types”) inside a doc

Data source

Tools

  • docs — Return the full DevDocs.io catalog of all available documentation sets: name, slug, type, version, and release for every supported library/language.
  • search_docs — Find which documentation SETS exist whose NAME matches a substring (e.g. “python” → Python 3.x, “react” → React). Returns doc SETS, NOT their content — this does NOT look up a function/method/API name
  • index — Index of entries inside a doc.
  • search_index — Search WITHIN a documentation set for a specific entry (method/function/API/property) by substring — THIS is the content lookup. E.g. slug=“javascript”, query=“Array.map”; slug=“python”, query=“os.pat
  • db — Content database for a doc (large).
  • entry — Single entry HTML.
  • types — List categories inside a doc.
